Adoption Process

Before our dogs go to live with the fosters we always verify their references to make sure our rescued dogs have the best care while waiting for their forever homes. Likewise, we ask any potential adopter to fill out and submit our adoption application prior to scheduling a meet and greet with a dog.

Completing our adoption application does not obligate you to adopt, but it is the first step towards being added to our approved list of adopters.  Applicants are approved pending vet reference and personal reference checks, and a home visit.  All current animals in the home must be spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccines as well as heartworm and flea prevention and any information provided on an application will be verified.

Our goal is to always make the best match possible for our rescued dogs, so being the first to apply does not guarantee your application will be selected.

1. Make sure you meet the ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS
2. Complete the ADOPTION APPLICATION
3. Home visit & pet introductions (Once approved)
4. Sign the contract, pay the adoption donation, and enjoy your new best friend.
Please remember, we are an all volunteer organization so sometimes this process takes a little time. Your patience is appreciated.

Why do we charge an adoption fee?

Adoption fees through a rescue are more economical than purchasing an animal and paying for the vaccines, spay or neuter yourself. We cover initial veterinary costs before we adopt an animal to a new home. Spaying or neutering alone can cost between $300-$800, and wellness exams and vaccines can be an additional $100+. When needed, we also pay for costly surgeries, emergency grooming, training and more. Your fee helps us cover some of these costs and ensures we can save more dogs
